Application Settings

On the "Application Settings" page, you can change some settings for the app.

How to reach the Application Settings page

Main Menu > Settings > Application Settings

Audio Autoplay

With turning on Audio Autoplay,
audios will be played at every time you open word pages.
On each page, you can change this setting if audios exist.

Volume

A volume slider can adjust the volume of the app.
It does not control master volumes of devices.
In other words, audios are silent if devices are set to mute.
You can change the volume on word pages if audios exist.

Preferred Audio Voice

Audios are generated by Amazon Polly.
Amazon Polly is a service that turns text into lifelike speech.
Although pronunciations of some words are questionable, the overall result is satisfactory for me.

There are four voices as options.

• Amy (British English)
• Brian (British English)
• Joanna (American English)
• Matthew (American English)

You can pick one of the options as a preferred one.
The preferred voice will come first in audio sections on word pages.
You can change this option on Application Settings only.

Some words change the ways pronounced with part of speech.
One part of speech can be played.

Dark Mode

With the switch on, a dark theme is applied to the app.
You can change this option on Application Settings only.
